Spirituality is a personal journey that helps us to connect with our inner world and a higher force. It involves practices such as meditation, prayer, yoga, journaling, walking, mindfulness, and breathing. These practices help us to deepen and broaden our perspective and to consider life from all angles. They also help us to trust that we will be guided when the time is right, even if we let go of control or the need to be safe. The five elements of spirituality are Earth, Fire, Air, Water, and Spirit.
Earth is associated with beginnings and endings, or death and rebirth. Fire is seen as the most rarefied and spiritual physical element due to its masculine properties. Water is the element of emotion and the unconscious. Air is an active and masculine element that helps us to make beneficial connections with new friends, community, and neighbors.
The fifth element is rarer than the four physical elements and can be associated with planets, tools, etc., but such correspondences are much less standardized. Trust is an important part of spirituality. We have to trust that we will be guided when the time is right and that things will get better. We also have to trust that our needs will be met and that there is hope of having them. Having a spiritual practice helps us to feel in tune with our spiritual self and to be open to possibilities. The Christian tradition has its roots in Judaism and personalism is embodied in the Son, which is the expression of the Father.
Communication and connection are the inner strength of Element of Air. Layer after layer they come together to create our perceived reality, all of which are subjective because they are altered by our own experiences and emotions. At the center of this form of spiritual experience are the five elements Earth, Fire, Air, Water and Spirit. Each element shares one of its qualities with another element, leaving an element completely unrelated. We have to be open to its possibilities and change our perspective in order to live a very good life.
